At the IFA 2026 event in Berlin, audio technology company EarFun unveiled its latest flagship product, the Wave Pro X over-ear headphones. These headphones integrate advanced dual-driver audio technology, an innovative hybrid active noise cancellation system, AI-driven sound processing, and enhanced battery longevity. The Wave Pro X is designed to elevate the listening experience with EarFun’s Dynamic Coaxial Acoustic Architecture (DCAA), featuring two dynamically tuned drivers and high-purity voice coils. This setup is intended to deliver an expansive soundstage without compromising the clarity of audio across various frequency ranges.
The headphones are equipped with a sophisticated noise cancellation system, utilizing an array of eight microphones that work in tandem with real-time processing capabilities. The Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) technology adapts to ambient noise conditions, effectively minimizing external sounds while ensuring an immersive audio experience. Another notable aspect of the Wave Pro X is its impressive battery life, offering up to 90 hours of playback time on a single charge, or 50 hours when the ANC feature is activated. Furthermore, a quick 15-minute charge can provide up to 10 additional hours of listening time.
Designed with user comfort in mind, the Wave Pro X boasts a foldable construction and memory-foam earcups, making them suitable for prolonged use. The headphones also support Bluetooth multipoint connectivity, enabling seamless switching between connected devices, and include a 3.5mm wired connection option with hi-res audio bypass. According to EarFun CEO White Wang, the development of the Wave Pro X focused on enhancing sound quality, noise cancellation, comfort, connectivity, and battery performance, rather than prioritizing one particular feature over others.
In addition to the Wave Pro X, EarFun gave a preview of its forthcoming product, the Air Pro 5 true wireless earbuds. These earbuds are expected to feature updated sound tuning, active noise cancellation, and adaptive processing capabilities. For the acoustic engineering aspects related to ANC modelling, tuning, and validation, EarFun collaborated with engineers from Bose Corporation’s Audio Technology division.
