Actxa, a health technology firm based in Singapore, has unveiled the Spark Band at IFA Berlin 2026. This innovative device is a screenless wearable that integrates various health tracking capabilities, including sleep, recovery, heart health, activity, and fitness monitoring, alongside the company’s unique non-invasive glucose awareness technology. Designed for continuous wear both day and night, the wristband uses BGEM technology to deliver an AI Glucose Snapshot, which estimates a glucose range and provides an indicative value within just one minute. This feature aims to enhance general wellness and awareness rather than serve as a tool for medical diagnosis or treatment.
The Spark Band allows users to take glucose snapshots at various times throughout the day, such as around meals, to monitor glucose-related patterns over time. This approach encourages users to consider trends alongside other health and lifestyle information, rather than focusing solely on individual readings. In addition to glucose monitoring, the Spark Band tracks several everyday health indicators via the Actxa app. These include sleep stages, scores, and overnight signals, while the recovery function compares sleep heart rate variability (HRV) against a personal seven-day baseline, providing a 30-day recovery trend. For activity and fitness, the device monitors movement, Intensity Minutes, workout details, VO2 Max, and Fitness Age, along with a Target Heart Rate Zone feature that alerts users through LED and vibrations when they reach their selected training zone.
The screenless design of the Spark Band aims to minimize notifications and visual distractions on the wrist, using LED and vibration cues for alerts such as training-zone notifications, movement reminders, and wake-up alarms. The device boasts a battery life of up to 14 days, weighs approximately 22 grams, and features a zinc-alloy casing with a soft nylon braided strap. Initial offerings include a Titanium Silver casing with Jet Black accents and a Midnight Black strap, available in S/M and M/L sizes. With an IP68 rating, the band is suitable for everyday water exposure, including submersion up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. It can store up to seven days of data before syncing with the Actxa app, and a full charge takes approximately 90 minutes. Connectivity is provided via Bluetooth Low Energy, compatible with Android 8.0 or later and iOS 15.6 or later, with no monthly subscription or ongoing service fee required.
Pre-orders for the Spark Band are set to open on September 24, 2026, priced at SGD 199 / USD 149, with the official launch and fulfillment scheduled for November 18, 2026. The device will initially be available in selected markets across Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and North America. Actxa is offering promotional discounts during the pre-order period, including a 40% early-bird offer from September 24 to October 31, followed by a 20% discount from November 1 to 17, and a 10% launch offer available for a limited time post-launch.
Founded in 2015, Actxa Pte Ltd is a Singapore-based company specializing in health and wellness technology. They develop wearable devices and proprietary technologies for personal health and wellness tracking. Their technology portfolio includes BGEM, an AI-based system for non-invasive glucose awareness designed for general wellness applications. Actxa emphasizes that the AI Glucose Snapshot is intended solely for general wellness and awareness purposes, not for diagnosing, treating, monitoring, or managing diabetes or other medical conditions. They note that battery performance may vary based on usage, settings, and enabled features, and water resistance may decrease with regular use over time.
