Bodo Ramelow recently headed a German delegation to Da Nang, Vietnam, with the aim of enhancing cooperation between the city and German partners across various sectors. During the visit, discussions were held with local authorities to assess the existing socio-economic collaboration and to explore further opportunities for partnership in areas such as education, vocational training, investment, technology, and workforce development.
Officials from Da Nang expressed a keen interest in expanding their collaborations with German regions and institutions, particularly focusing on developing human resources, vocational education, and German language training. They also encouraged increased German investment in key areas such as high-tech industries, semiconductor production, renewable energy, the green economy, and digital transformation.
Highlighting vocational education as a promising avenue for cooperation, Ramelow proposed the creation of joint training programs that would enable graduates to earn qualifications recognized in both Vietnam and Germany. He also emphasized the importance of strengthening business ties and exploring new investment opportunities between the two regions.
Germany is considered one of Da Nang’s principal European partners, with a broad spectrum of cooperation covering trade, technology, education, research, and cultural exchange. This visit underscored the commitment of both sides to further develop their economic and institutional partnerships, fostering a future of mutual growth and collaboration.
