PASOK officials have strongly criticized former MP and minister Andreas Loverdos for his decision to join New Democracy, accusing him of actions aimed at weakening their party.
In a statement, PASOK leaders alleged that in 2024, prior to the European elections, Loverdos founded a political party solely to prevent PASOK from securing second place. They also claimed he frequently appeared on television praising the government and supporting what they described as “unconstitutional actions.”
The party further accused Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis of attempting to manipulate PASOK’s 2024 internal elections through illegal wiretaps. Loverdos had contested the party’s leadership race but lost to current leader Nikos Androulakis, who retained his position.
PASOK criticized Mitsotakis for now embracing Loverdos, highlighting past allegations of election interference and political maneuvering within the party.
